A/V Narrative Development & Worldbuilding Strategy for Nicole Moudaber’s Global Performances
CHALLENGE
Years of touring and shifting collaborators left Nicole with a powerful but fragmented A/V identity — strong ideas, but no cohesive world to hold them.
The task wasn’t to “clean up visuals.” It was to transform a decade of instinct-led creativity into a unified, narrative-led universe that could scale across global shows, festivals, set lengths, and future eras.
She needed an A/V system that was:
• cohesive
• symbolic
• emotionally intelligent
• resistant to CGI sameness
• and unmistakably hers
This is my practice:
turning cultural intuition into worlds teams can build from.
INSIGHT
Nicole’s artistic identity, all 17 different personalities: resuscitate the matriarchy, symbol of life, strength in femininity, dimensionality — was rich, but her visuals weren’t expressing that depth. Meanwhile, the techno A/V landscape had become homogenous: glossy humanoids, dystopian CGI, polished sameness (Tale of Us, Prydz, Anyma).
Nicole didn’t need more polish. She needed feeling, a world as dimensional as she is.

IDEA
Reframe Nicole’s shows as a journey, not a spectacle. I created Ankh Unveiled: The Elixir of Life — a narrative-driven A/V world rooted in ritual, rebirth, and transcendence. A universe where each set moves through anticipation → descent → climax → renewal — a techno ritual honouring Nicole’s emotional force.
Not CGI gloss.
Not VJ chaos.
A realm beyond the dancefloor: sensual, otherworldly, strong.
A story-first A/V strategy her teams can activate and evolve.
PROCESS
1. A/V Audit & Cultural Diagnosis
Mapped Nicole’s full A/V archive of avatars, ruins, mocaps, nightlife scenes, then pinpointing fragmentation and missed symbolic threads.
2. Narrative Architecture
Built a modular chapter-based arc scalable across any set length or festival format.
3. A/V Briefing Ecosystem
A collaborator-ready system of emotional cues, scene categories, narrative pacing, symbolism, and evolution rules — enabling Volvox Labs to build consistently.
4. Creative Direction Filters
A direction grounded in Sensual. Otherworldly. Strong.
A counter-move to CGI-driven sameness.
5. World Logic System
Defined five creative lenses to anchor the world beyond aesthetics:
